Brooksby Outdoor Adventures - Outdoor Adventures at Brooksby Farm WAITLIST Welcome to the Outdoor Adventures at Brooksby FarmA quality summer experience is much more than running around outdoors and going home tired...it's a chance for your child to discover new adventures, grow personally, make new friends and memories, in a fun and safe environment. We strive to give your child the best experience! Each session is devoted to the assigned theme and participants will complete different crafts, activities, games, and challenges related to the theme each day. Other parts of the day will be spent doing activities that may include, but not limited to: orienteering/hiking, team building, archery, fishing and more!Cost: $300.00 per week Session 1: June 30-July 3 - CANCELLEDStars and Stripes (no program on 7/4) Embark on an exciting week of outdoor adventure with a Stars and Stripes theme, filled with thrilling activities, team challenges, and nature exploration! Celebrate summer in the great outdoors while creating unforgettable memories.Special Guest: Curious Creatures on site visit!Session 2: July 7- July 11Adventure through TimeTravel through the ages in our Adventure Through Time week! Explore ancient history (of Brooksby Farm), prehistoric creatures (maybe you'll check out some fossils), and more, including a field trip to the Harvard Museum of Natural History to discover the wonders of the past!Field Trip: Harvard Museum of Natural HistorySession 3: July 14 - July 18Drenched in FunDive into Drenched in Fun week, where water-based adventures take center stage! Enjoy a thrilling canoeing trip, splash-filled games, and exciting outdoor challenges that will keep you cool and laughing all week long.Field Trip: Foote Brothers CanoeingSession 4: July 21 - July 25*Campfire ChroniclesGather around the fire for Campfire Chronicles week, where adventure meets creativity! Enjoy an overnight camping experience filled with storytelling, fire-building lessons, and a talent show to showcase your skills under the stars. This week will include a trip to the beach, so participants will need a swim test or a life jacket.Field Trip: Singing Beach *Swim Test RequiredOvernight Wednesday, July 23Inclement Weather Overnight Date: Thursday, July 24Session 5: July 28 - August 1Ancient EarthStep back in time during Ancient Earth week, where you'll explore the wonders of our planet's early history! Enjoy a thrilling trip to a treetop adventure course, navigating heights and obstacles while learning about the ancient world beneath your feet.Field Trip: Tree Top AdventuresSession 6: August 4- August 8*Wildlife WarriorsBecome a Wildlife Warrior during this action-packed week, where you'll embark on outdoor adventures to learn about and protect local wildlife. From hands-on nature projects to wildlife tracking and conservation activities, you'll gain the skills to be a true champion for the animal kingdom! You will have the opportunity to stay overnight this week and learn about nocturnal creatures as well. There is a beach field trip which requires a swim test or life jacket. Field Trip: Singing Beach *Swim Test RequiredOvernight Wednesday, August 6Inclement Weather Overnight Date: Thursday, August 7Session 7: August 11 - August 15The Great Outdoor OlympicsGet ready for the ultimate challenge in The Great Outdoor Olympics! Compete in a series of exciting, nature-inspired events, from relay races to obstacle courses, team challenges, and more, all while embracing the spirit of teamwork and outdoor adventure. This session ends with Color Wars, a competition against all other parks programs in the city! Field Trip: TBD AND COLOR WARS @ Higgins on Friday (Participants will be dropped off at Higgins)CAMPOUTS:*All participants in those sessions are invited to participate. 3 pm or 8pm pick-up if they choose not to stay for the overnight!SWIM TEST INFO: Click HERE for the Swim test formFor all field trips to bodies of water, your child must complete a swim test ahead of time OR wear a life jacket the entire time. All participants in sessions 4 & 6 will need to complete a swim test prior to attending their water based field trips. We partner with the Torigian Family YMCA and set up the following swim testing dates to be held at 259 Lynnfield St, Peabody, MA 01960. Please be sure to bring a copy of your receipt as well as the swim test form for the YMCA staff to fill out.
