Pickleball at Marrs Park - Beginner Pickleball - SUMMER at Marrs (5WKS) The pickle ball courts in Peabody are calling all adults looking for a new and exciting hobby! Lead by certified instructor Sue Carnevale. Participants will begin each lesson with some skills and drills and then end the lesson with live play.Find your session: New to the Game - Beginners Clinic: For players who have played very little or not at all. You will learn about the rules, how to keep score, the serve, return of serve and volley strokes. This session will also address the dink shot, which is a foundation shot in the game of pickleball. Once players learn the game, they will have an opportunity to receive coaching as points are played out. Advanced Beginner:Players looking to improve the serve (classic and drop), and the strategic return of serve. This session will also focus on the backhand, block shot, volley or ground stroke and working on more precise placement of shots. We will continue to work on helping students develop low and unattackable dink shots. This session will also address court positioning. About half of each session will involve on court coaching while players play out games. Advanced Beginner/Low Intermediate:This clinic will focus on developing shot consistency on the court, stroke choice and positioning. We will work on the mechanics on the court. Particular attention will be paid to improving strokes, footwork, and strategy. Players will also work to understand when to use particular shots, such as a drive or a softer shot. We will emphasize the 3rd shot drop. Half the session will be used for on court instruction.What to bring: -Racket- the instructor will have some loaners available if needed.-Water-Court sneakers, or sneakers with little tread, recommended-Hat/sun glasses, recommendedBefore you arrive:
