12:15 PM - 6:45 PM    Wicked Safety Babysitter Training with CPR - Early Release Babysitter Training @ Peabody Meadows
SafeSitter (Appropriate for grades 6-8) Safe Sitter® is designed to prepare students in grades 6-8 to be safe when they’re home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting. The Instructor-led class is filled with fun games and role-playing exercises. Students learn:Safety Skills: Students learn how to prevent unsafe situations and what to do when faced with dangers such as power failures or weather emergencies.Child Care Skills: Students learn tips to manage behavior that will help them stay in control of themselves and the children in their care. Students also learn the ages and stages of child development, as well as practice diapering.First Aid & Rescue Skills: Learning skills such as choking rescue and CPR is often students’ favorite part of the class. Students also learn a system to help them assess and respond to injuries and illnesses. Wicked Safety Training partners with the American Health and Safety Institute to include a First Aid and CPR certificate.Life & Business Skills: The ability to screen jobs, discuss fees, and greet employers will set students up for success now and in the future. Students practice these skills through various role plays. *Please note this course is non-refundable.

BATTLE BOTS (6 Week Program) - Dates TBA Calling all future champions and robot enthusiasts! Brace yourself for an action-packed camp at RoboThink, where you'll embark on an epic journey of building and battling with a wide variety of awe-inspiring robots. Put on your engineer's hat and bring your robot to life using gears, motors, axles, and our state-of-the-art hardware. Then, step into the arena and engage in thrilling battles and challenges that will push your skills to the limit. No experience necessary just come ready to battle, have fun, and let your robot reign supreme!*Explores how to use mainboards, switches, IR sensors, gears, DC motors and axles, as well as concepts like gear ratios, gear trains, potential and kinetic energy, and more!One Day Workshops (1.5 Hours):11/7: Go Kart Races @ South Branch Library 4-5:30pm  - CANCELLEDGet ready to feel the need for speed at the Go Kart Races Workshop! Students will embark on an exhilarating journey as they build and customize their very own Go Karts. Once their creations are ready, it's time to hit the racetrack and compete against their fellow classmates. With gears, motors, axles, RoboThink's proprietary hardware, and an array of exciting builds and competitions, the quest to become the Ultimate RoboThink Racer begins! No prior experience required just buckle up, hold on tight, and let the racing adventure unfold!11/19: Girl Genius @ South Branch Library 4-5:30pm Calling all creative minds! At our Girl Genius-themed workshop, no experience is required. Participants will embark on a magical journey as they build their own Alicorns and Chariots. But that's not all– you can let your imagination run wild by customizing your Chariot or even adding more Alicorns! It's a whimsical world of invention and wonder, perfect for your young geniuses.12/6: Holiday STEM Workshop @ Peabody Meadows Golf Course 4-5:30pm 'Tis the season to get robotic! Join us for a festive celebration at the Holiday STEM Robotics Workshop. Students will have the joyous opportunity to select from a delightful assortment of holiday-themed robots and machines. With gears, motors, axles, and batteries in hand, they'll bring their own creations to life, capturing the magic of the holiday season. No experience necessary just leave the snowballs at home and get ready for a joyful, hands-on experience that will make your holidays even brighter!

Join Peabody Recreation and Danvers Recreation/Endicott Park Staff for a super fun holiday workshop! We will use fresh evergreen boughs to make an adorable evergreen gnome decoration for your garden or front steps this winter! We are offering this workshop one day in Peabody and one day in Danvers! 1 Gnome per registration.Thursday 12/5 will take place at Endicott Park, 57 Forest St. Danvers in the Carriage House. Session A: 5pm-6pmSession B: 6:30pm-7:30pmThursday 12/12 will take place at Peabody Meadows Golf Course, 80 Granite St. Peabody in the Club House. Session A: 5pm-6pmSession B: 6:30pm-7:30pmHow to RegisterRegistration is through each Recreation Department.
