2026 Tanner City Park Program @ Birch Street Park @ Burke School (Jubilee Relocated) - Birch Street Week 7: Color Wars
Welcome to the Tanner City Park Program at Birch Street (Burke School)!*Relocated from Jubilee at West SchoolBased at the Burke Elementary School, we look forward to another phenomenal summer of sports, field games, art and crafts, music, nature projects, and more! We have a great deal planned for our playground program participants, including special days and surprises! Our energetic and highly qualified staff members are looking forward to another summer with your child(ren) and have lots of new ideas and great activities planned for them this summer. Theme Weeks/Field Trips This year each week will have a fun theme! Each day's activities will correlate with the theme. Participants must wear their Peabody Recreation shirt on field trips. Shirts will be distributed to participants on Monday of their session. *Field trips are subject to change due to weather and/or site needs.Session 1: 6/29-7/2Super HeroesField Trip: New England Party AnimalsSession 2: 7/6-7/10Lights, Camera, Action! Special Activity: In the GameSession 3: 7/13-7/17All Around the WorldField Trip: Nova Trampoline ParkSession 4: 7/20-7/24Soundtrack of SummerField Trip: Northshore Music Theater Session 5: 7/27-7/31 Community HelpersField Trip: Beverly Luau @Lynch ParkSession 6: 8/3-8/7Wild WestField Trip: Stone ZooSession 7: 8/10-8/14 Color WarsField Trip: COLOR WARS!Session 8: 8/17-8/21Extended SummerThis program will run strictly outdoors. There is no indoor access. We will have portable toilets, hand washing stations, and water refill stations available at the site. In the event of inclement weather, we will cancel by 5pm the evening before.No field trip for this week!$200 for the session!Rainy Day InformationIf there is inclement weather throughout the day, we will go inside the school until the inclement weather passes. We will try to stay outside as much as possible.For Week 8: Extended Summer, there will be no indoor space available. If there is a chance of inclement weather, we will cancel by 5pm the night before!Inclusion SupportIf your child has diverse abilities, and you think your child would benefit from receiving support in this program from an inclusion specialist, please register for inclusion support as well, filling out all forms in as much detail as possible. Please note, this registration is not a separate program, but it is your way of asking our department for support services. We will do our best to support as many children as possible.
