Summer Beach Scenes
Using acrylic paints on 8 x 10 size canvases, students will learn how to paint simple scenes of sky, clouds, ocean and sand. Each student can create their own details by adding palm tresses , sea grass etc. Group and individual instruction will be provided. Students may complete as many scenes as they wish. A list of colors and supplies will be sent after registration. All are welcome to join this 5 week session!

Kids' Test Kitchen - Kids Test Kitchen @ South School Parents report that kids come home from Kids’ Test Kitchen EXCITED about fresh ingredients and new recipes! Reluctant eaters learn that food is safe and fun! And everyone practices essential life skills like teamwork, time management, patience, along with the obvious skills like slicing, measuring, and cooking! On a mission to redefine kid food; Kids’ Test Kitchen’s enthusiastic Facilitators get eaters of all ages and abilities, cooking, tasting, and thinking about healthy ingredients!Kids’ Test Kitchen presents kids the opportunity to explore new or familiar foods in their raw, unmanipulated state. Then, working as a team, they’ll slice, dice, peel, measure, and cook until they’ve prepared the finished dish. Class closes with an opportunity to taste the result of their hard work. Students receive a printed recipe card and the focal ingredient - or a sample of the finished dish - so they can show off what they learned!Even the most reluctant eaters enjoy Kids’ Test Kitchen, where participation isencouraged, and the choice to taste is always one’s own.Lessons are planned to celebrate seasonal produce, whole grains, and legumes.Yes – join us again! Tennis in the Parks for Pre-K to Grade 10 - (SPRING) Tiny Tanners Tennis Tennis in the Parks - The tennis program where kids play while they learn!Led by an approved USTA Net Generation tennis coach, the program will focus on developing the skills to serve, rally and play - so it’s perfect for beginners and first-time players. Once the skills are there, participants will play fun matches with other players in the program. The Tiny Tanners, Red Ball, and Orange ball program uses modified tennis balls, age-appropriate rackets, court sizes, and the latest fun and engaging activities that help players successfully learn and play the game quicker!Meet the instructor:Returning to Peabody Recreation is Coach Maria Schena! Maria is a creative and engaging teacher with over 30 years of experience teaching students of all ages!Inclement Weather:If inclement weather is in the forecast, we will aim to make up lessons that same week when possible. If not, we will make it up at the end of the season. Be sure to check your email for potential postponement notifications. Lead by certified instructor Sue Carnevale. Participants will begin each lesson with some skills and drills and then end the lesson with live play.Find your session: Beginners 1: This lesson is perfect for players who have no real experience playing pickleball. An introduction, participants will learn the game, how to hit the ball, the rules and to keep short rallies going.Intermediate 2 Players: You are able to keep quite a few balls going with your forehand, make most easier volleys, are starting to make more back hands, but looking to develop your stroke. Adult Tennis In the Parks - (SPRING) Adult Skills and Drills 16+ Tennis Adult Tennis In the Parks- Come Play! Our Adults Skills and Drills Tennis Program is designed for those who want to learn the fundamentals of tennis and for players looking to improve their game! Each night, players work on their tennis skills, hand-eye skills, basic tennis stroke technique, ball & racket control, and have lots of fun! All abilities are welcome.Our Intermediate Adult Tennis Program is designed for those who already have the basic tennis strokes, can maintain a rally, and already know how to Serve, Rally and Score.
