Kids' Test Kitchen - Kids Test Kitchen @ South School Parents report that kids come home from Kids’ Test Kitchen EXCITED about fresh ingredients and new recipes! Reluctant eaters learn that food is safe and fun! And everyone practices essential life skills like teamwork, time management, patience, along with the obvious skills like slicing, measuring, and cooking! On a mission to redefine kid food; Kids’ Test Kitchen’s enthusiastic Facilitators get eaters of all ages and abilities, cooking, tasting, and thinking about healthy ingredients!Kids’ Test Kitchen presents kids the opportunity to explore new or familiar foods in their raw, unmanipulated state. Then, working as a team, they’ll slice, dice, peel, measure, and cook until they’ve prepared the finished dish. Class closes with an opportunity to taste the result of their hard work. Students receive a printed recipe card and the focal ingredient - or a sample of the finished dish - so they can show off what they learned!Even the most reluctant eaters enjoy Kids’ Test Kitchen, where participation isencouraged, and the choice to taste is always one’s own.Lessons are planned to celebrate seasonal produce, whole grains, and legumes.Yes – join us again! Once the skills are there, participants will play fun matches with other players in the program. The Tiny Tanners, Red Ball, and Orange ball program uses modified tennis balls, age-appropriate rackets, court sizes, and the latest fun and engaging activities that help players successfully learn and play the game quicker!Meet the instructor:Returning to Peabody Recreation is Coach Maria Schena! Maria is a creative and engaging teacher with over 30 years of experience teaching students of all ages!Inclement Weather:If inclement weather is in the forecast, we will aim to make up lessons that same week when possible. Pickleball at Marrs Park - Beginner Pickleball - Spring at Marrs The pickle ball courts in Peabody are calling all adults looking for a new and exciting hobby! Lead by certified instructor Sue Carnevale. Participants will begin each lesson with some skills and drills and then end the lesson with live play.Find your session: Beginners 1: This lesson is perfect for players who have no real experience playing pickleball. An introduction, participants will learn the game, how to hit the ball, the rules and to keep short rallies going.Intermediate 2 Players: You are able to keep quite a few balls going with your forehand, make most easier volleys, are starting to make more back hands, but looking to develop your stroke. Our Adults Skills and Drills Tennis Program is designed for those who want to learn the fundamentals of tennis and for players looking to improve their game! Each night, players work on their tennis skills, hand-eye skills, basic tennis stroke technique, ball & racket control, and have lots of fun! All abilities are welcome.Our Intermediate Adult Tennis Program is designed for those who already have the basic tennis strokes, can maintain a rally, and already know how to Serve, Rally and Score. We have a great deal planned for our playground program participants, including special days and surprises! Our energetic and highly qualified staff members are looking forward to another summer with your children and have lots of new ideas and great activities planned for them this summer. From water games to an exciting trip to the zoo, participants will experience the wonders of wildlife up close while staying cool. At the zoo, they’ll explore animal habitats, learn about conservation, and maybe even get the chance to meet some of their favorite creatures. This week is all about making a splash, having fun, and discovering the amazing animals that share our world!Session 4: July 21- July 25 CircusField Trip: Nova Adventure Park* and Field Day at O'Conner Park (Welch School)Step right up for a week of high-flying fun and circus-inspired thrills! Participants will experience the excitement of circus acts through juggling, and clowning around, all leading up to a heart-pounding trip to the trampoline park, Skyzone. There, they'll soar through the air, flipping and bouncing like true circus performers! With plenty of laughter, skill-building, and airborne excitement, this week is sure to be a showstopper!Session 5: July 28- August 1 All Star AthleticsField Trip: Luau at Lynch Park in Beverly and Field Day at Lake St (McCarthy School)
Get ready to unleash your inner champion! This week is all about celebrating sports, teamwork, and personal bests. Participants will participate in exciting challenges, from relay races to obstacle courses, and sharpen their skills in everything from soccer to basketball. Plus, we’ll have a special field trip to a Lynch Park in Beverly, where all parks from Peabody and Beverly will compete in fun challenges! Whether you're a seasoned athlete or a first-timer, this week promises action-packed fun and a chance to be an All-Star!
Session 6: August 4- August 8 Wild, Wild WestField Trip: In the Game Peabody and Field Day at Jubilee (West School)Saddle up! Participants will step into the boots of cowboys and cowgirls as they embark on exciting western-themed activities, cowboy crafts, and line dancing! This week will feel like an adventure straight out of the frontier! Session 7: August 11- August 15 OlympicsSpecial Activity: Color Wars at Higgins Middle School
Participants will compete in a variety of fun, spirited events everything from relay races and obstacle courses to soccer channeling their inner Olympians. With a park trophy at Color Wars on the line, teamwork and sportsmanship will shine as participants represent their park and aim for victory in a week full of action, excitement, and friendly competition. Who will take home the gold at Color Wars? Let the games begin!*Participants will need to be dropped off and picked-up at Higgins Middle School on Friday

Plus, we’ll have a special field trip to a Lynch Park in Beverly, where all parks from Peabody and Beverly will compete in fun challenges! Whether you're a seasoned athlete or a first-timer, this week promises action-packed fun and a chance to be an All-Star!

The Tiny Tanners, Red Ball, and Orange ball program uses modified tennis balls, age-appropriate rackets, court sizes, and the latest fun and engaging activities that help players successfully learn and play the game quicker!Meet the instructor:Returning to Peabody Recreation is Coach Maria Schena! Adult Tennis In the Parks - (SUMMER) Adult Skills and Drills Adult Tennis In the Parks- Come Play! Our Adults Skills and Drills Tennis Program is designed for those who want to learn the fundamentals of tennis and for players looking to improve their game! Each night, players work on their tennis skills, hand-eye skills, basic tennis stroke technique, ball & racket control, and have lots of fun! All abilities are welcome.Our Intermediate Adult Tennis Program is designed for those who already have the basic tennis strokes, can maintain a rally, and already know how to Serve, Rally and Score. There, they'll soar through the air, flipping and bouncing like true circus performers! Whether you're a seasoned athlete or a first-timer, this week promises action-packed fun and a chance to be an All-Star!

Pickleball at Lakeshore Park - Beginner Pickleball (Summer) The pickleball courts in Peabody are calling all adults looking for a new and exciting hobby! Lead by certified instructor Sarah Caliento, participants will begin each lesson with some skills and drills and then end the lesson with live play.Find your session: Beginners: This lesson is perfect for players who have no real experience playing pickleball. An introduction, participants will learn the game, how to hit the ball, the rules and to keep short rallies going.Advanced Beginners: This is for the player who has taken Intro or beginner classes and has at least one year of pickle ball experience, including knowing the rules and scoring. Intermediate Players: You are able to keep quite a few balls going with your forehand, make most easier volleys, are starting to make more back hands, but looking to develop your stroke. Touch up on your form while putting your skills to the test, playing other intermediate players.Skills and Drills- Development for Adults: Practice makes perfect! Tennis in the Parks for Pre-K to Grade 10 - (Summer) TIP Orange/Green Ball Tennis in the Parks - The tennis program where kids play while they learn!Led by an approved USTA Net Generation tennis coach, the program will focus on developing the skills to serve, rally and play - so it’s perfect for beginners and first-time players. Once the skills are there, participants will play fun matches with other players in the program. The Tiny Tanners, Red Ball, and Orange ball program uses modified tennis balls, age-appropriate rackets, court sizes, and the latest fun and engaging activities that help players successfully learn and play the game quicker!Meet the instructor:Returning to Peabody Recreation is Coach Maria Schena! Adult Tennis In the Parks - (SUMMER) Intermediate Adult Tennis Adult Tennis In the Parks- Come Play! Our Adults Skills and Drills Tennis Program is designed for those who want to learn the fundamentals of tennis and for players looking to improve their game! Each night, players work on their tennis skills, hand-eye skills, basic tennis stroke technique, ball & racket control, and have lots of fun! All abilities are welcome.Our Intermediate Adult Tennis Program is designed for those who already have the basic tennis strokes, can maintain a rally, and already know how to Serve, Rally and Score. It will consist of improving technique and will introduce singles/doubles strategies for match play.Inclement Weather Policy:If inclement weather is in the forecast, we will aim to make up lessons at the end of the session.
